Why Hypnosis?
I’ve just realized that I have been a Hypnotist for 9 years. I also have been a Psychotherapist for 15 years and have worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor and an Assistant Substance Abuse Counselor for several years before that. The more I work with hypnosis, the more find that it can be used more quickly and more effectively than my other disciplines.
A Look at the New Hypnosis Client
If any of us who have been hypnotized can look back to the time before that happened we would see that we had a lot of misconceptions about how hypnosis might feel or what we might do under hypnosis. It is important to remember that any new client that walks into our office has those same misconceptions.
Hypnosis and Success: Part 2
In the previous post I talked about how many successful people are able to enter a state of hypnosis to achieve a state of creativity. Some are able to enter this state spontaneously and others can learn how to enter it. Hypnosis and meditation seem to be closely related if not the same thing.
Be Healthy and Have Fun With Self-Hypnosis
I have been enthused about hypnosis for years. I finally searched out an instructor and learned how to perform hypnosis.
The Average New Client
I was thinking about the average new client that comes into my office. Usually, they have tried several (or many) other solutions to their particular problem. Many times hypnosis is a last resort. As I have discussed in an earlier post, they are sceptical and nervous. But most of all I think that they believe that the hypnotist has some type of occult power that will rid them of whatever issue that they have come to deal with.
Am I Helpless When I’m Hypnotized?
What is Hypnosis?
One of the first questions people want answered is “What is Hypnosis?” Many people do not understand hypnosis and need to have their misconceptions rectified before continuing. These misconceptions lead to fear or mistrust and can stand in the way of someone making a decision as to whether hypnosis can help solve their particular problem.
Book review: Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy by Calvin Banyan and Gerald Kein
I chose this book to review because it is another of the books that changed the way that I do Hypnotherapy. The subtitle is Basic to Advanced Techniques for the Professional. I believe that the subtitle describes the book perfectly.
Hypnosis and Success: Part 1
Successful people tend to have certain qualities that which when used in combination create their success. They must first be confident in the belief that they can meet their goals and that they are capable of achieving their success. They have to have confidence in their ideas and that they are capable of achieving their goals. They must also be able to withstand adversity and lack of faith from those that ridicule their efforts. They must have the stick-to-it-iveness to make it through the difficult times and hang in there while the process runs it’s course. They need to commit thenselves to obtaining their goals and to focus so that they are not distracted
Is Hypnosis Effective?
The first question people seem to ask is “Is hypnosis effective?” What they really mean is “Does hypnosis work?” This question actually has a rather complicated answer. The question should more accurately be “Can I do the work necessary to make changes with the aid of hypnosis?”
